Are you looking for a catering opportunity that offers a good work-life balance?

Would you like to work in a newly built visitor centre with a spacious well equipped kitchen?

Seaton Jurassic is a new visitor attraction that engages people with East Devon’s unique geological, coastal and marine heritage. Alongside a series of hands-on activities, Seaton Jurassic has its very own cafe serving delicious local food.

We are seeking a number of new posts to join our team at Seaton Jurassic:

  • Café Supervisor: you will deputise for the Catering Manager supervising the smooth running of the café ensuring quality food standards and excellent customer service. You will have previous experience of managing staff (including preparation of the staff rota) and cashing up at the end of the day. Ideally you will have food preparation and Barista coffee training. This is a permanent part-time post (45 hours per fortnight) and you will need to be available to work on Monday to Wednesday and Saturday. In addition, you will have the flexibility to work additional hours and be available to work at weekends. Hourly rate is £8.00 per hour.
  • Café Assistant (Front of House): you will be the first point of contact for customers to the café ensuring a warm welcome and have the ability to explain our food offer and ethos with confidence. You will take orders, prepare and serve Barista style coffee, serve food orders and clear tables. We can offer up to 5 days a week work and typical shifts are 6 hours per day (11am to 5pm). In addition, you will have the flexibility to work additional hours and be available to work at weekends. Hourly rate in line with min/living wage.
  • Casual Café Assistants: we are interested in hearing from candidates with and without experience in both the kitchen and Front of House – more important is your ability to engage and enthuse visitors to the Centre. If you are looking for occasional work, without the commitment of permanent hours, then this could be the perfect role for you. Hourly rate in line with min/living wage.

We offer great working conditions, sociable hours and competitive hourly rates

The Centre is in Seaton, East Devon and is owned by East Devon District Council and operated by the Devon Wildlife Trust.
